2023 is positioned to be a huge year for Air Max: alongside expanding the line-up’s catalog, Nike is bringing the Big Bubble back to the Womens Nike Jordan Air 1 Zoom Space Hippie Gris. And that’s not all the brand has in store for the silhouette. The Swoosh will also be releasing a pair of slides modeled after the Tinker Hatfield-designed icon.

Nike has a history of turning their most prolific sneakers into slides. We’ve seen this with the Air Max 90 as well as the Air More Uptempo. And now, the Womens Nike Jordan Air 1 Zoom Space Hippie Gris is receiving the very same treatment, revealed first in two familiar colorways. But though reminiscent of its source fragmentarily in this respect — conjuring to mind images of the “Sport Red” as well as the “White/Black” — the trimmed down model is far from faithful to the original. Much of the upper, save for parts of the toe box and mid-panel, have been entirely removed; only the midsole remains intact, though it, too, is slightly modified.
