Jared Ebanks Every few years Jordan Brand goes back into their archives and pulls out a few undervalued pairs for a righteous re-release. Alongside the Air Jordan 9, MJ’s second signature silhouette has joined the fray of returns thanks to the collaborative aid of A Ma Maniére, Union and J. Balvin. Now set to stand on its own, various inline colorways have begun reappearing, including the return of the OG “Chicago” scheme.
Receiving our first looks at the pair back in June, the colors and materials seen on the original construction make their way back to the 2022 rerelease, featuring a smooth white leather upper accented by a jet-black nylon sockliner, laces and midsole. Iconic Crimson accents paint their way across the winged insignia of the tongue, molded heel counter and sectioned tread for seldom pops of color through each level of the model.
Laced up with His Airness’ during the 1987 Dunk Contest, day one’s will appreciate the replica packaging of the winged box set to anchor the pairs heritage-filled history on the hardwood.
