It’s been over a year since adidas first introduced the 4DFWD, a then brand new proposition that was touted as “the future of running.” And though still innovative for its implementation of 3D-printed cushioning, moment “future” is about to be made obsolete, as the Three Stripes are ushering in the silhouette’s first sequel.

Dubbed the 4DFWD 2, the silhouette is moment to “redefine forward motion” thanks to both its sole unit and upper. The latter, similar to its predecessor, is entirely 3D printed, featuring a lattice structure that compresses forward to reduce braking forces. Above, Primeknit + helps produce sock-like comfort, while the engineered mesh adjacent ensures a supportive and snug fit. And like the original, this upcoming model lines its outsole with Continental rubber for extra grip in a variety of weather conditions.
