Michael Le The trends adidas Superstar Primeblue, the Shell Toe classic’s latest transformation, brings sustainability further to the forefront. Like the equally notable Stan Smith, the model is turning recycled, signaling a big change for the Three Stripes.
At the heart of the construction lies Primeblue, an earth conscious material that’s part-composed of Parley’s signature ocean plastic. It dresses the entirety of the upper, giving each panel a look near canvas-like in texture. And behind, along the heel, darker “Core Black” tabs are complemented by a gridded array of embroideries, each thread made of upcycled plastic waste. Matching logos outfit further up — at the tongue and profile, specifically — while see-through rubbers build out the tooling and toe.
