Michael Le As a result of the silhouette’s anniversary, we’ve seen the Superstar appear in a number of unique styles, some directly inspired by adjacent lace. And now, as if reminiscing about past Superstan releases, the model is dressing up like the ever-iconic Stan Smith.
A recreation in color rather than construction, the pair outfits the back heel tab and the tongue with the same green the aforementioned tennis shoe made its signature. Even the branding is intentionally designed similar as the trefoil at the peak dons a portrait-like border around its shape. Elsewhere, white runs more replete, effectively blending together the Three Stripes overlays along the side, the shell toe, and the leather all throughout the profile. Gold lettering does add an overt touch of Superstar DNA, though its subdued by the rest of the Stan Smith influenced elements.
