This closer look reveals the crown logo emblazoned on the tongue, the lion carved into the over-sized heel, and a completely new upper that boasts a distinctive pattern with the diagonal ribs. A large “2” and “3” are also embossed onto the midfoot at the tongue.

Currently, retailers have reported a September 20th release date for the kyrie 2 red velvet sneakers in this black and red colorway, but as Nike customarily does for new LeBron shoes, a “pre-heat” and other special make-ups will surely kick things off before this standard issue colorway hits stores.
