After being used for a luxe take on the “Shattered Backboard” Jordan 1s in May, Jordan Brand is turning to satin again for another one of their classic silhouetes: the Air Jordan 5. The “Satin” Jordan 5s—a prototype colorway from 1990 that never saw a release—prominently features the Jumpman’s classic color combination of black and red that’s been used on everything from the Jordan 4 to the Jordan 11. A luxury black satin upper sits on top of the Jordan 5’s P-51 Mustang-inspired two-tone speckled red and black midsole. Accents are provided by a 3M tongue with a red embroidered Jumpman, tonal black Jumpman volt on the heel, and a translucent outsole. For a final interesting touch, “Recognize” and “Greatness” are embroidered on the inside of the shoe’s tongues, nodding to Michael Jordan’s iconic legacy. Look for these stately Jordan 5s to crafted this November with a retail price of $190, and for more Jumpman info, be sure to check out our Jordan Release Dates page.
