Corduroy is not normally a material that is found dressing up a sneaker. Its texture and weight is usually more suitable on a vintage jacket or a pant. But, with the massive support that poured in after Sean Wotherspoon‘s corduroy-clad kobe viii womens design won the RevoultionAir Design Competition, Nike knew that it had an opportunity to capitalize on this potential new trend.

Corduroy comes into play on both elements of each sneaker’s upper as well as on the inner lining, which should provide the wearer with even more comfort than normal. A warm blue hue is responsible for the retro-friendly material on the uppers, while the aforementioned lining come draped in white. For the real thorough Air Max fans, the colorway is reminiscent of the special edition release from 2006 that celebrate Finish Line’s 25th Anniversary.
