Reebok is partnering with Artists For Humanity, a program that aims to enable social change for under-resourced youth, on a special collection to showcase four young artists. The four teenagers designed limited edition Reebok sneakers, providing paid work to each of the artists who would otherwise not likely have had the chance for such an opportunity without the Artists For Humanity program.
A Classic Leather was designed by Johnathan Vergara with a geographic theme, referencing Reebok’s birthplace in Bolton, England and their current headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts. The hand-painted water graphic represents the Atlantic Ocean, which separates each continent represented by the contour lines on the heel and toe.
Next up is the Cluc C collaboratively designed by Johathan Tejeda and Kathleen Canola, in a colorway inspired by William the Conqueror’s coat of arms featuring a red, blue, and yellow branding with a Tudor rose motif. The year 1066 is stamped on the heel to represent the Battle of Hastings, which marked the beginning of the Norman Conquest of England.
Thornton Nguyen outfits the Workout Plus in a rocket ship inspired design with red, orange, and pink clouds portraying a fiery launch and a dark blue outsole to represent space.
The Reebok x Artists For Humanity collection releases April 7th at select Reebok Classic retailers worldwide in limited quantities.
