Remember the awesome “Griffey For Prez” ad campaign from 1996? A 25-year-old Griffey (already a seven-year veteran) decided to run for president of the United States, Athletic being constitutionally prohibited from doing so (gotta be 35 to be prez). Nike is transforming those awesome colors and graphics into this Air Griffey Max 1 sho, with a navy, gold, and dark red upper reflecting the pins and posters Premium dominated the scene in 1996. The shoes are set to release in limited quantity as the Hall-of-famer approaches his official induction in July. Stay tuned for full release info.
