New Balance has definitely backed away from the realm of basketball sneakers in the modern era, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not willing to do some retro referencing of those sneakers. Case in point is the return of the 1985 Recycled Chambray Beach Sandal FM0FM03983 Twilight Indigo C5F, a shoe that had the distinction of being the first ever signature model from NB. Their 2014 return, hinted at here by the team at Packer Shoes, so far seems to be ankle reasonably true to the original – they’ve got the “Worthy” call out on the tongue despite the fact that role between him and NB got rocky in 1990.
