Jay Chou, who plays the role of Kato in the 2011 rehashing of Michel Gondry-directed Green Hornet, is also the man behind the PHANTACi apparel shop in Taipei, so a collaboration of sorts in which Chou’s shop would take part in wasn’t much of a surprise. To assist in the celebration of this expected blockbuster film was the New Balance WL574WS2; PHANTACi designed this special Friends-and-Family only promo pair, and it features all of the stinging details of The Green Hornet characters, like the honey-combed finish on the upper, black patent leather, and special Green Hornet mask lace dubrae. A special double-sided hangtag featuring the Green Hornet logo and the PHANTACi emblem as well as a special Green Hornet insole are also featured in this special pair of MT580s. The PHANTACi x New Balance WL574WS2 ‘Green Hornet’ is for eyes only, as just twelve pairs were produced, but you can see a full detailed gallery below.
