Basketball fans were in the middle of the biggest offseason hoopla in the history of professional sports, but who’s sitting back, enjoying the sun, and truly benefiting from all of this? Kobe Bryant and his defending champion Lakers are enjoying an offseason in which they learn their two biggest competitive rivals in the West – the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz – just lost two marquee players. Safe to say that the Lakers are again the favorites to come out of the West next season (but Kevin Durant should have something to say about that), but Kobe’s next stop is the August games in Turkey – the FIBA World Championships.
