How do you take a shoe designed for the surf set and make it into something rugged for the remaining winter months? In the case of these new vans classic slip on tiger patchwork, the perfect answer is adding metal eyelet hooks and corded laces, a la hiking Schuhe. These aren’t the first hiking-inspired sneakers, or even the first Sierra 106 LXes we’ve seen this season, but three supremely clean canvas lowtops riding all-white vulc soles call out to the grownup aesthetic sense in all of us.
