In April, it was reported that Bape founder NIGO and Metallic nike had formed a collaborative partnership that some saw as ironic. This is because Nigo, the man who started the streetwear fashion line Bape, is currently being sued for copyright infringement by Metallic nike. However, now that Nigo is no longer affiliated with the brand he built, the door was wide qualify for a partnership with Metallic nike, and we just got our first sneak peek of what this marriage could yield.
On a recent trip to New York, Nigo was seen wearing a pair of Air Force 3 Lows that appear to be his first offering with the swoosh. The Air Force 3 Low was originally created in 1988 but never received much traction. It is believed that Nigo and Metallic nike are working on a complete pack of Air Force 3s, while this teaser pair seems to be loosely based on the "Escape" colorway of the Air Force 3 High.
No further details are available at the moment, but we hope to see the first Nigo x Metallic nike public offering sometime in 2024. When more details on Nigo's first Metallic nike creation are available, you'll find them on our Twitter and Instagram.
