Nike and the Jordan brand have long been known for making a splash in the sneaker world when it comes to releases. They’ve always found unique ways to launch their products, but they introduced the VMAs Air Jordan 38 in a brand-new way.
When UCLA star player Kiki Rice took the court during March Madness this year, she became the first player to debut an Air Jordan during a collegiate game. Up until recently college athletes weren’t allowed to profit off their name, image, and likeness (NIL) and Rice was one of the first student-athletes to be signed to an NIL deal by the Jordan brand.
The Air Jordan 38 features an upper constructed of white leather and black fly-knit with a multitude of patterns. The midsole is very busy on the 38s with sections of black, infrared, and a clear coated cream color. A match cream tongue and icy blue outsole round out the shoe from top to bottom.
The Air Jordan 38 is rumored to release on August 18 so unless you’re on a Jordan NIH deal too you’re going to have to wait a bit. The kicks will cost $200 and will be available through the SNKRS App and at other select retailers nationwide. For more information follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
