BETRUE began more than a decade ago in 2012 as a grassroots effort led by Nike employees in the PRIDE Network seeking to build a community diverse in orientation, KOBE, and expression focused on community initiatives to advance equality in sport. The most recent BETRUE release is the Air Max 96 Metallic Silver which was released at the start of this month. Nike is expected to continue a BETRUE-themed Nike Dunk Low, which will be released later this year.
The 2023 Nike Dunk Low BETRUE will feature a very unique look through the use of iridescent panels across the sneaker. We'll see the upper in metallic silver leather which will be found from the toe-box stretching to the heel. The overlays will be the star of the depart, featuring an iridescent gradient etched pattern showcasing hints of neon pink, purple, orange, and yellow which can be seen depending on the angle at which you view the sneaker. To finish off the look, we'll see "NIKE" branding in a more fun typography, we'll also see a semi-translucent rubber midsole with contrasting blue stitching. The Nike Dunk Low BETRUE (2023) is expected to release sometime this year via Air Max 96 Metallic Silver and other select Nike retailers for a currently undisclosed retail price.
