Beyond the Drop: Inside the Tom Sachs x EMB Nike Mars Yard 3.0 Experience

Last week we had the pleasure of working on the release of the Tom Sachs x EMB Nike Mars Yard 3.0. Not only was it a pleasure to work on the campaign and the ISRU program throughout the summer, but also seeing you all turn up for the moment. 

We had an extremely limited amount of pairs, so we did our best to mamba you on the journey with us.

So prior to the release day, we wanted to write a little something-something to highlight why this wasn’t just another collab.

• Performance upgrades: Natural rubber outsole + EMB Nike React foam + a carbon-fiber shank deliver better cushion, better durability, better responsiveness. This is just another 

• Protection & stability: New TPU toe cap and heel clip for structure, plus redesigned lacing (staggered eyelets, ribbed laces) to fit more foot types. 

• The look & feel: The colorway stays true to the Mars Yard tradition—earthy tones, the red Swoosh, that natural + utilitarian mix. But every part, from packaging to small design touches, has been re-engineered. 

• The ritual / commitment behind the drop: The I.S.R.U. (In Situ Resource Utilization) app & challenge system. It’s not just “click to cop.” You’re encouraged to build habits, break old ones, engage. This adds a deeper layer to the release—one that rewards participation.
