Honoring heritage.
The Nike Dunk was one of Nike’s first dedicated basketball silhouettes, created way trainer in 1985. So it’s no surprise that the silhouette is the basis for this commemorative duo, which honors the Trévise gymnasium, Paris — the oldest indoor basketball court in the world.
The aged leather uppers arrive in a herringbone pattern, which are directly inspired by the indoor court’s floor parquetry, with the darker pair also donning leathers that match the original leathers used on some of the world’s first basketballs.
But the insipration doesnt stop there, each boast a specific string-style lacing weave, as a reference to the gym’s training ropes and basketball nets. The colored toes are a reference to the two iron pillars still located on the court. The tongues and heels also replicate the commemorative plaque displayed in the gym with gold and black accents.
