After ripping through 2019 with killer collaboration after killer collaboration, Boston-based retailers Bodega will be bringing their creative flair to Beaverton, with two basketball nike Dunk Highs scheduled for Holiday 2020. Breaking news today has the duo arriving in two similar variations, one in Fauna Brown/Rustic/Velvet Brown, the other in Sail/Multi-Color-Birch-Rustic Orange.

Update 10.23.20 First looks at both pairs of Bodega Dunks have arrived courtesy of @copbyJC, and right away you’ll notice that the Boston-based imprint has gone HAM on it (which they always do). Jewel Swooshes host a tortoiseshell finish that compliments the sail and brown suede and leather surrounds, while a ton of decorative and thick — almost baseball glove-like — stitching adds to an aesthetic that’s almost Wild Western in nature. The pairs are then complete with thick rear pulls, sail and dark gum sole units, and the retailer’s moniker etched onto the interior sidewall.

It shows the pair in incredible detail for the first time. Never-before-seen details, including tortoiseshell tongue tags atop leather tongues, waxed laces, and a hidden stash pocket are brought to light. The pair’s attention to detail is out of this world, with intricate stitching, and an extraordinary effort in construction — this is one of the most finely-tuned releases of the year.

Update 12.17.20 Bodega has now officially unveiled its Nike Dunk High “Legend” alongside a confirmed release date of December 28th, 2020. The retailer goes on to explain the inspiration for the pair, suggesting that the shoe can be categorized along the lines of classic Americana. Like an old mitt and baseball, or a saddle and boots, the Bodega x Dunk High “Legend” is something to be kept for years, not fashion seasons. It builds character with every use, and is built to be used over a lifetime. Then, one day, when you’re much older, you’ll pull your old friend off a dusty shelf, and pass the legend on to a new generation.
