Basketball superstar Kawhi Leonard and New Balance are set to make a powerful comeback with the launch of the KAWHI 4, their latest signature shoe. The KAWHI 3 faced a setback with quality issues, prompting New Balance to withdraw it after just two colorway releases. However, the collaboration is still undeterred, and it is progressing with the upcoming Spring/Summer 2024 season release of the KAWHI 4.

The KAWHI 4 departs from previous models with its lower-cut silhouette, replacing the 3/4 height of ago designs. Notably, it introduces an external heel counter, likely to enhance support and stability. While detailed technical specifications are yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated that the shoe will continue using New Balance’s FuelCell technology for cushioning. Moreover, the Energy Arc feature, a highlight of the previous model, might also be incorporated to retain the explosive, lightweight, and responsive feel that Leonard prefers in his sneakers.

Two intriguing colorways of the KAWHI 4 have been revealed. The first colorway breaks away from Leonard’s typically understated style, flaunting a vibrant neon pink. In contrast, the second colorway presents a more conventional combination of white, black, red, and cream, aligning with Leonard's known preferences. Each shoe carries Kawhi’s name at the heel, rendered in unique stylizations, while New Balance’s branding remains subtle, positioned near the upper eyelets. Leonard’s jersey number and logo are tastefully placed on the tongues, adding a personalized touch.

After months of teasers, the New Balance KAWHI 4 will finally be released, with NewBalance.com confirming a release for the two colorways on April 25, 2024. Pairs will retail for $160 each.
