The $250 New Balance Allerdale in "White" is Available Now

New Balance has widely been considered a "dad shoe" company. And while the North American brand has even playfully acknowledged this reputation via marketing material, its Allerdale silhouette might be full-on acceptance of the stereotype.

Produced in its United Kingdom factories, the New Balance Allerdale is a premium walking shoe. Simple as that. But the style's quality and thoughtfulness is anything but simple.

A thick, high-quality leather upper sets the stage for a number of intentional details that deliver personality and reliability to the pair. D-ring lacing is borrowed from traditional hiking footwear, bringing an all-new element to the century-old institution. Embroidered NB logos on the sides harken back to retro branding while dispelling any doubt on whether or not the Allerdale is a New Balance. The tennis shoe-reminiscent tooling features the same FuelCell foam found on the Beauty&Youth United Arrows × New Balance ML2002 R6 28.5cm, a modern take on heritage running shoes, ensuring the "refined leisure" offering fulfills its purpose: walking.
