The New Balance 550 is set to receive a new colorway that pays homage to a classic basketball aesthetic.

Dubbed the "Chicago" colorway, this upcoming release captures the spirit of one of basketball history's most iconic color schemes.

Ostensibly inspired by the legendary franchise, the New Balance 550 "Chicago" is a tasteful blend of bold red, vintage white, and deep black. This colorway is a nod to the iconic uniforms and sneakers that have graced the basketball courts of Chicago, a city with a rich basketball heritage — all with a neo-vintage flair.

The upper of the 550 "Chicago" features a warm-white base, offering a clean and classic foundation for the design. This is complemented by bold black mesh collars, suede heel caps and midfoot Vest, as well as lining, trimming, and brand markings. Red is worked into the collar and branding, too, with both black and red joining white on the sole unit underfoot to complete the design.
