Union LA is set to reignite the energy behind Air Jordan 1 collaboration with the third installment of its signature stitched-together design, arriving later this month. Under the creative vision of Chris Gibbs, Union’s take on the Air Jordan 1 has become a benchmark in collaborative sneaker design, merging elements of two OG 1985 colorways to create a single hybrid masterpiece.
Scheduled to release on February 28, the latest iteration sees the lower half of the iconic "Chicago" Air Jordan 1 fused with the upper portion of the "Shadow" colorway, maintaining the distinctive Union aesthetic of contrasting sections welded together by exposed yellow stitching. However, it appears that a fourth unreleased version was also in development, featuring a UNC-colored lower half and the OG "Royal" upper—a blend that offers a fresh take on the mash-up formula Union has perfected.
Recently revealed via Horehead Sales, this alternate Union Air Jordan 1 follows the same design ethos, with the contrasting colors seamlessly stitched together. At the same time, yellow laces and exposed stitching enhance the hand-crafted look. Though currently classified as an unreleased sample, its existence raises the question—could this colorway see a future release?
