Jayson Tatum and Jordan Brand Officially Unveil the Tatum 2

Jayson Tatum's second signature sneaker, the Tatum 2, embodies the essence of Jordan Brand's design philosophy, focusing on both the motion and emotion integral to basketball. Tailored specifically for the All-League forward's dynamic gameplay and for aspiring athletes who draw inspiration from his style, the Tatum 2 is a testament to Tatum's seventh year of refined skill and physical prowess on the court.

Derek Foster, Senior Product Line Manager at Jordan Brand, highlights Tatum's remarkable durability as a key attribute. This endurance, evident in his consistent top-league performance, is a driving factor behind the Tatum 2's design, which features a full-length Nike Air Strobel unit. This unit cushions the impact of Tatum's explosive playstyle and complements his deep-seated confidence and effortless off-court style.

Bryant Klug, Expert Footwear Designer at Jordan Brand, points out Tatum's need for a durable shoe to match his high usage rate and intense two-way play. The Air Strobel, known for its smooth heel-to-toe transition, aligns perfectly with Tatum's preference for a shoe synchronizing with his movements.

The Tatum 2's upper is ingeniously crafted with large foam and textile pods, strategically positioned to alleviate high-pressure zones experienced during play. The foam frame, encircling these pods, ensures foot constancy during multidirectional movements while maintaining flexibility and sensitivity.

Klug also draws inspiration from Tatum's poise in high-pressure game moments, aiming to imbue the Tatum 2 with a sense of 'no pressure' for its wearers. The outsole, featuring a modified herringbone traction pattern, is designed to be lightweight yet expansive in coverage, continuing the Tatum line's legacy as the lightest in Jordan Brand's performance series.

The Tatum 2 is set to launch in the “Momma’s Boy” colorway on March 5, available on Nike.com and select retailers. The “Vortex” colorway, offered in full family sizing, follows with an April 4 release.
