In an unprecedented move for Jordan Brand, they’ve gifted fashion blogger Aleali May her very own Family and Friends Air Jordan 6 PE in what she has called “Millennial Pink”
If you’re not aware of Aleali May, she’s an image consultant, model, and fashion blogger. Her career began in fashion with Louis Vuitton and RSVP Gallery Chicago.
But all of this is a little strange to me – the likes of Reebok, Adidas and Puma have been signing influencers for so long that it seems normal for them – but for Jordan Brand, it’s not the norm. Showing up late to the party is better than not showing up at all, but it feels a little bit too late.
Perhaps the recent L they took to Adidas overtaking them in 27.5cm (for the first time ever) has woken them up to the fact that you can never ,ever stay still in this fast-paced environment.
But the shoes? I’m very much indifferent. Which is a bad thing to say about “fashion” – IMO, fashion should be polarizing enough to either draw emotions of 200E, like, dislike or hate – but never indifference.
