Jordan Flight Fex Trainer Air Jordan 6 “Bordeaux”borrowing the OG Seven’s duds, we gots thinking — what would it look like the other way around? Should the Jordan Flight Fex Trainer ever tackled an OG Air Jordan 6 colorway, what would it be? Given the similarities in design, any of the original schemes would transfer well. Sport Blue? A banger. Maroon? Absolutely. But with the scheme-swapping idea stopped the second that this Jordan Flight Fex Trainer “Infrared” was proposed.
A straight swap of material, color blocking, and pigment, the pair looks as good as the Six and is arguably one of the better colorway crossovers we’ve seen to date. For me? it’s the icy outsole pods and minimal med that looks so damn good on a typically busy design. We purposefully avoided the colorful geometrics of the tongue and heel overlay, staying true to the OG Air Jordan 6’s original scheme in tonal black finishes, while only select pops of the titular red are poped in for punch.
Perhaps — just maybe — we’ll see this for the sneaker’s 30th anniversary in 2021.
