It’s been a long, long minute since we’ve been in the Concept Lab, but with the current slow in sneaker news due to COVID-19, it’s freed IP a little extra time for our team to sit down and dream up another “what-if” colorway concept. And with the world still on hiatus, we naturally shifted to the things we miss most; sports and sneakers. Longfor many of you, a we’re sitting on a slew of pickups just ready to be UNDS’d, one of those being the recently-released UNC Jordan Remastered clothing. The quality of that pair (and the entire College Label series for that matter) is out of this world. And with an upcoming Oregon Air Jordan 5 later this year, we took a look at some other colleges that would make a great release. And although not sponsored by Jordan Brand directly, the Texas Longhorns are affiliated with Nike, Inc.
A simple pair with a few color block twists, we imagined a classic white leather build, paired with ultra-light grey accents at the outsole, eyelets, and Jumpman branding, with bolder strokes of burnt orange serving up the pop. White Bio print is outlined with the hue, while collars, tongue liners, medial eyelets, and the rear midsole provide the pair with a unique blocking. We’d love to see it one day — and I bet that Longhorn Alumnus PJ Tucker would, too.
