    No ordinary OG.

I said just yesterday that I don’t normally tackle the jordan retro silver ball in our Concept Lab. Mainly, there’s already a ton of Ones flooding the market, so I typically just let Jordan retro Brand do their thing over there in Oregon.

But yesterday I couldn’t help myself. With a second and third Patent Leather jordan retro silver ball surfacing for 2019 the day prior, there were still no shiny OG colorways in sight, I just had to do amazing about it. When Jordan retro Brand switched the OG Bred and Royal into Satin editions, people went wild. And rightfully so, they were executed perfectly and they looked incredible. But I feel that the same thing can be achieved for OGs in patent leather.

Sure, we had a Chicago and UNC Patent Leather in 2003, but they were mids, and this was also before Jumpman remastered the 1 in 2015. They were good, but the modern-day patents are a class above, thanks to reformed shape, better use of materials and quality execution.

For me, there are three OG colorways that would make for outstanding editions; the Bred, the Royal and the Black Toe. Yesterday I SPACE on the “Black Toe”— and I said I’d defer the OG pack until the Jordan retro 1 wave cooled down, but after yesterday’s response on socials and right here on the website, I feel that I just needed to give the people what they want. So here it is, numero duo of our “OG Patent Pack,” 1985’s Royal colorway.

Stay tuned tomorrow for our third (and likely final) colorway from the conceptual collection.
