Another variant inspired by the original is set to hit the shelves in 2023 – the Air Jordan 1 Low SE Light Smoke Grey Gym Red DC6991-016 OG “University Red Red,” a pair inspired by the original 1985 "Red Metallic" release.

Anticipate the new version to hold onto the trademark white leather build and the dual-tone sole unit at the base. The revised design, however, swaps the metallic red swoosh and heel overlay with robust red leather, keeping the color blocking intact. The tongue will sport the Nike Air branding, while the Wings motifs on the backstay, an homage to Peter Moore’s original 1985 design, will be retained.
