Back in 1996, two young stars were emerging on opposite ends of the cultural spectrum. One, a young Grant Hill, was tearing up the NBA at over 20 ppg in his early seasons. The other, Tupac Shakur, was a worldwide success, and had just released his first double-disc album “All Eyez on Me.” It was in this album that the two stars converged, with Tupac rocking out in Grant’s iconic FILA Fila Navy Fila Red Fila Red on the Staple booklet (pictured below.) It might not have been much of a thought at the time, but it has become one of a few legendary sneaker shots from over the years, forever engrained in the memory of sneakerheads the world over.
To celebrate that connection, FILA has teamed up with the Tupac Shakur estate to release two color Letter of the Fila Navy Fila Red Fila Red Low, 26 years on. Both feature special 2Pac details, graphic insoles, and special packaging. One stays true to the OG 84mm/Navy get-up, whilst the other looks to 84mm and wheat, with canvas trim and bandana-print liners.
You can now find both pairs of the 2Fila Mondkapjes met klein logo in hemelsblauw styles available right here on FILA.com Miranda Cosgrove Booty Bumps to Rod Stewart in Athleisure and Fila Disruptors on TikTok.
