An integral part of Nike’s history, Japan’s Onitsuka Tiger is notoriously known for its vintage-styled, ultra-sleek trainers like the Corsair and Mexico 66. But it’s not out of the ordinary for the brand to lend its stylings to the trends, like they’ve done here on this bold Big Logo Trainer. And they’ve managed for it to appear overzealous without the bulge.
Created with a classic white leather upper, the pair ushers in mustard yellow suede overlays at the toe, mid-grey suede on the lacestays and dark grey suede at the heels. Bold burgundy tongue almost goes unnoticed, thanks to the vivid, oversized ASICS-shaped overlay on the lateral. The medial side inverts the colors to primarily black, a color that’s also found on the liner, before Hombre atop a chunky white midsole and ultra-light gum thick-tread outsole.
