— and a Peachtree!
adidas and Raf Simons are back with another Originals effort for April, and in true Raf style, the offering is a little left field.
The former Dior designer, an icon in his own right, has taken to another icon in the adidas bb6177 boots girls shoes sale, but the Belgian takes it a step further by blending in another Three Stripe standout, the Samba. But Simons doesn’t implement or borrow design elements from the 1950’s soccer trainer, instead he screenprints the entire upper of the Samba — including the lace loops, midsole, and outsole — onto the entirety of the Stan Smith. The zig-zagging cut of the lateral Three Stripes is a dead giveaway, but as you peer in for a closer look, you’ll notice the unmistakable toe cap and herringbone tread printed across the sneaker. The medial ankle flexes the Samba’s traditional branding, with the lateral presenting a bold all-caps “RAF SIMONS” motif. Completing the design is a green and gold midsole, co-branded insoles and white rubber outsole.
Update // A second pair has surfaced featuring an adidas Peachtree printed over the Stan Smith, this time arriving in a Light Sand/White combo. Take a peep at both pairs below!
A release date is slated for April 12th, with pairs set to arrive at select retailers like SNS and adidas.com.
