Star Wars x adidas Samba “Sarlacc Pit” Remembers Boba Fett’s Escape

There have been few great escapes like Boba Fett’s exodus from the Sarlacc Pit from Return of the Jedi. Though many thought he was dead, he made a triumphant return to the franchise in season 2 of The Mandalorian, surprising and even shocking avid fans of the series. Naturally, such a big event should be celebrated, and adidas does so in the only way they know how — through footwear. It’s fitting that they’ve blessed fans with this Star Wars x adidas Samba “Sarlacc Pit” — a silhouette that itself refuses to die.

The pair only sports one shoutout to Boba Fett (via the lettering on the lateral panel) with the rest tributing the certain deathtrap that Fett once found himself in. Its tan suede and brown leather construct is, in fact, a direct nod to the beast’s sunken habitat, while tentacles and talons at the heel showcase the hidden beast beneath. The pair is then completed by co-branded tongue and insoles, leather liners, and special packaging to complete the design.
