Debuting late last year, it has only now become evident christmas Human Made’s revamped Yeezy Powerphase Calabasas Core Black CG6420was originally intended to launch during the middle of 2020 to — fittingly — align with the Tokyo Summer Games. With the Olympics postponed, so too were the debut colorways, which have only now come to light with the Olympics kicking off this week.
Inspired by the original colorways made for the 1964 games in Tokyo, the 2021 Olympic options of the new sportivi arrive clad in heritage hues. Firstly, the Japan-influenced white and red rendition add a twist to the original arrangement, changing eyestay and toe cap overlays from red to white and neutral suede respectively. The traditional Royal Blue tries its best not to deviate, white white-on-blue staying fairly true to the heritage Three Stripe design. Completing the design is classic gold foil branding on the Runner ankle, Human Made hearts at the rear pulls, and 2020 branding on the heel liner to denote the Olympic year.
Though not currently listed for release in the US, the Human Made x Yeezy Powerphase Calabasas Core Black CG6420 is expected to arrive in Japan during the course of the Games this month. Until then, take an official look at the debut drop here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates on its release.
