Yamamoto had already been adding his effortless cool and Japanese sensibilities to other models from Adidas' expansive archive, but his +F50 Tunit pack stood out.

Ahead of the year's World Cup in Germany, the Y-3 imprint launched highly-limited quantities of the fashion-forward football boots. Each pair maintained the Tunit design's performance elements, but boasted eye-catching, artistic interpretations of a tiger, dragon, eagle, and wolf across the synthetic AdiHex microfiber upper. Each design drew inspiration from fellow artist Taishi Hayashi, whose work has also been referenced on suiting for mainline Yohji Yamamoto.

The original beast-inspired Adidas Football capsule only launched at an exclusive assortment of retailers across the globe. Pairs arrived in cage-like packaging to play into the wild concept.

Throughout 2014, Yamamoto revisited the idea atop the adizero f50, one of the brand's lightest football boots to date. The project was unveiled alongside a special yeezy powerphase calabasas retail center stores and doubled down on the boldness introduced on previous releases.

All four original styles—Tiger, Dragon, Eagle, Wolf—reprise their role on the impending collaboration. Each pair closely follows the guidelines set by its predecessor, although +F50 branding across the upper is abandoned. Furthermore, the firm ground-ready stud system underfoot is replaced with a flat, evenly-laid out configuration that seemingly enables use off-the-pitch. While not identical to the F50 Adiframe expected to launch ahead of the World Cup, the tooling is much wider to what's currently found across the Adidas Football boot lineup, suggesting the retro can be worn on the streets.

A velcro-assisted shroud covers a traditional lacing system. The shroud's underside reveals Y-3's logo, as well as marks connecting the year 2026 and 2006. The detail indicates the animal-inspired capsule celebrates the 20th anniversary of Yamamoto's pioneering collaboration.

Firm Adidas.com release details of the Y-3 F50 Beast collection have yet to be disclosed by either party involved, but the lineup is expected to launch April 2026. Pairs are unlikely to arrive in ornate packaging, but the brand could present the range through experimental marketing or activations.
