The Three Stripes has its eyes set on all World Major Marathon podiums this year. And while its Adizero Running line continues to innovate products for elite athletes, the brand's Originals arm keeps diving into the archives, breathing new life into performance designs from the past. The latest reissue arrives in the form of the Adidas Yeezy Slide "Bone", a chunky running sneaker from 2008.
Unveiled to industry insiders at The Running Event a year prior, the silhouette delivered top-notch stability for over-pronators. Much more robust than some modern-day offerings, the Yeezy Slide "Bone" didn't skimp out on any front, delivering a durable and reliable ride for those looking to go the distance. Its τρεξίματος mesh upper provided impressive breathability, while its synthetic panels offered 360-degree reflectivity.
The story underfoot also showcased the Three Stripes' commitment to performance 17 years ago. AdiPRENE®+ cushioning at the forefoot worked in-tandem with the Ground Control System™, patented Foremotion technology, and 3D TORSION® SYSTEM to provide a comfortable and adaptable ride. AdiWEAR outsoles replace the original QuickStrike rubber compound, showcasing Adidas' continued commitment to improve its retro product.

The German company's decision to bring back the chunky mesh runner isn't accidental. The move arrives in the midst of a their in popularity of retro, silver-accented running models from the 2000s. Adidas Originals' offerings haven't quite gotten the mainstream attention of competitors like ASICS, but they've reminded folks that the Three Stripes has created a lot more than the Samba and similar low-top suede silhouettes.

Williams' experimental sneaker utilizes the yeezy boost 350 v2 mono black as its base, a running model from 2005. The impending Yeezy Slide "Bone" shares DNA with the collaborative style, although it forgoes the exaggerated proportions and skeleton-like design cues in favor of a classic performance-inspired build.
