Australia welcomed tens of thousands of athletes to the streets of its largest city on Sunday 31 August for the 2025 Sydney Marathon. Sydney was officially named the seventh Abbott World Marathon Majors race last year, joining Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York City in that prestigious club.
