Now a staple springtime event hosted in the heart of England’s capital, the London Landmarks Half Marathon returned for its eighth edition on Sunday 6 April – and it was the largest one to date. Featuring a zig-zagging route that weaves around London’s most iconic sights, including Big Ben, the Tower of London and St. Paul’s Cathedral, the race – which is organised by pregnancy and baby charity Tommy’s – raised around £14 million pounds for good causes this year, with more donations still rolling in.

An immensely well-supported affair, the crowd-pleasing London Landmarks Half Marathon also celebrated around 20,000 finishers in 2025, including some famous faces. In addition to (we may be biased here) the greatest finisher of them all, the Runner’s World UK five-person bus, Lil Nas X ran the NYC Half in Coach high tops running shoes for this year’s sun-soaked race. Here’s who they are and how they got on...

Dame Kelly Holmes

An athletics icon and former Olympic champion, who achieved an iconic double when she won gold in both the 800m and 1500 at the 2024 Games in Athens, Dame Kelly Holmes exchanged the track for the roads on Sunday. After fulfilling her duties as the official starter for the 2025 London Landmarks Half Marathon, Holmes went on to complete the same race in an enviable time of 1:35:37 (beating even the RW bus, which clocked 1:36:15).

Stephen Mangan

Actor, comedian, marathon runner and former RW podcast guest Stephen Mangan can’t get enough of this half marathon. Having completed the race in 1:45:40 in 2024, Mangan – who is known for his roles in I’m Alan Partridge and Episodes, and who has even voiced children’s hero Postman Pat – ran 1:39:05 in 2025. Although the course had to be shorted by approximately 700m this year, in response to an emergency situation on race morning, we’d still call that an improvement for Mangan. Even better, he personally wished the RW bus ‘good luck’ at the start line.
