Women Strava users outpaced men in workout frequency across all age groups in 2020, according to a new report from the Advertisement - Continue Reading Below.
The 'Year In Sport' data revealed the biggest surge was seen in 18-29 year old women, who increased their annual median number of activities by 108% in the UK and Ireland compared to men’s 92% rise. Globally, in the same age bracket, women’s workout frequency increased by 45.2%, while men’s frequency only increased by 27.3%.
The impressive rise in activity uploading was reflected in every age group: UK and Irish women in the 60+ age group logged a 62.8% increase in workout frequency compared with men's 34.8%. The gap was echoed globally, with a 28.3% rise for women but only a 9.6% rise for men.
The annual global report surveys data from 73 million athletes who logged a total of 1.1 billion activities (and 386.4 million photos) in the period between 10 October 2019 to 30 September 2020.
