of the world’s best running cities Rhys Jenkins of the world’s best running cities.
Starting in Chester on 21 July 2020, Jenkins will need to complete the course in under 20 days, 12 hours and 55 minutes – the current World Record set by New Zealander James Harcombe in 2017 – if he is to set a new record.
The challenge, which is the equivalent to running 33.2 marathons and climbing the height of Mount Everest four and a half times, will help raise money for three charities: CF Warriors, NSPCC and Maggie's.

'Training has gone really well,' says Jenkins, who has logged 3,500km in training runs. 'The hardest section should be the Pembrokeshire Coast Path – that’s where the daily elevation gain really starts to ramp up. On more than one day, I’ll be climbing the equivalent of Snowdon, twice! However, the hardest part of the challenge overall will be the mental games that go on in my own head. I’ll be trying my best to look no further than the day ahead of me.'
Jenkins, who is sponsored by endurance apparel brand Rokman, is no stranger to ultra running, having completed the Kennet & Avon Canal 145 Mile Race, the Ultra-Trail Harricana of Canada, a 2,000-mile run across middle America and the Badwater 135 Ultra, raising over £100,000 for charities in the last 10 years. He is also the race director of Pegasus Trail Running Advertisement - Continue Reading Below.
