The City of London police have tweeted the public, asking for help identifying a runner who broke a fellow commuter's nose on 18 October at around 9pm. According to news reports, the runner swung out his elbow when running through the middle of a group of pedestrians outside the Royal Bank of Scotland in London’s Financial District.

The pedestrian was struck in the face by the runner, breaking his nose. PC Claire Geldart, from the City of London Police, called the incident “unnecessarily violent” in a statement released this week.

The police have released CCTV footage of the runner, and are asking for help identifying him. Geldart said, “Today we have released an image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with this unnecessarily violent incident, which has left a blameless pedestrian with a serious and painful injury.
