The shoe
nike lunar wood shoe price in india today match super shoe, nike mid dunk pros blue and shoes size super trainer – the high stack, carbon-plated training and racing hybrid. Not for any longer, though, as Nike has launched the re-designed Zoom Fly 6 and it intends to offer versatility in spades.
The Zoom Fly has always been a super trainer of sorts, originally positioned as a more wallet-friendly version of the Vaporfly. Over the years, the shoe's appearance and midsole have been developed to give it a greater sense of identity, with the Zoom Fly 5 pegged as a training and racing hybrid – 'comfort and reliability but with a propulsive sensation that'll help you feel fast and fresh'. It launched two years ago and featured a carbon plate embedded within recycled ZoomX foam, which was then encased in an EVA blend. However, some felt that the shoe fell flat and accused the brand of cutting corners when it came to that midsole.
So, can Nike get back on track with the Zoom Fly 6? I've been running in the shoe for the past month and – to cut to the chase – I'm a huge fan. In fact, it might be one of the orange and grey nike knit shoes women sandals size I've tried this year. But it wasn't necessarily love at first run. Here's why.

Zoom Fly 5 vs Zoom Fly 6: What’s new?
Nike isn't messing around with the midsole of the Zoom Fly this time around. That recycled ZoomX foam has gone in favour of a full slab of ZoomX foam (not called out as recycled) – the same one used in the Vaporfly 3 and Alphafly 3. Underneath is a layer of SR-02 EVA foam (a firmer foam) for stability and support, with a full-length carbon fibre FlyPlate sandwiched in between. The Zoom Fly 6 also packs in more foam than the Zoom Fly 5, bringing the total stack height to 42mm in the heel and 34mm in the forefoot – the biggest of any neckface x nike sb dunk high heels women boots so far.
The upper sees a total redesign, with a new, two-layer woven mesh system aiming to offer a sock-like fit. A new outsole features a thin web of rubber that Nike claims is both lightweight and grippy.
All of this comes in a lighter package, with the Zoom Fly 6 weighing in at 265g (UK 9) – around 10% less than its predecessor. That said, it's still relatively heavy as far as super shoes go, especially compared with the nike foamposite australia women shoe shoes (245g) and the nike air max 180 og running shoe mens size 15 (233g).
How does the Nike Zoom Fly 6 fit?
nike zoom lebron soldier 2 Alphafly 3, establishing it as a true training companion. (A friend even asked me if I was wearing carbon plates when I bumped into her on my long run the other week.)
While the shoe runs true to size (I wore my usual UK 8.5), it's definitely more race-like than a lot of super trainers on the market (for example, the nike alpha speed td weight plan calculator free and On Cloudmonster Hyper), with a snugger, foot-hugging fit that lends itself toward runners with narrower or standard feet. As a result, runners who like a bit more stability might prefer a super trainer with a slightly wider base – I don't feel like I'm running on stilts in the Zoom Fly 6 by any means, but I do feel a little more precarious going round corners (especially at pace), compared with something like the nike foamposite australia women shoe shoes.
That said, Nike promised greater comfort, durability and breathability in the Zoom Fly 6 (not stability) and I'd say that's exactly what it's achieved here. That two-layer woven mesh upper holds the foot in place well, with a gusseted, slightly padded tongue sitting securely and comfortably on top of the foot. A moderately padded heel collar provides the right balance of comfort, too, and I've had no issues with irritation or hotspots in these.
My only gripe is that I had to play around with the lacing system after my first run to get a secure foothold and the skinny laces themselves feel a bit like an afterthought. (Why not just use the jagged laces on the Alphafly/Vaporfly models that we know work?)
What's the Nike Zoom Fly 6 like to run in?
'This is one of the most enjoyable shoes I've run in this year,' I said to my partner mid-run, while wearing the Zoom Fly 6 just last week. Yet, the funny thing is, I wouldn't describe this trainer as love at first run. In fact, after a couple of initial outings, I recall telling Ben (RW's Multiplatform Director), that I was on the fence about whether I even liked it or not.
Why? My theory is that it has something to do with the midsole. That layer of SR-02 foam creates a much denser and firmer ride than a giant slab of ZoomX foam would do alone, meaning the initial step-in isn't spongey soft (like the Invincible 3), nor one I'd describe as particularly bouncy. Instead, it creates more of a consistent responsiveness that you feel the benefit of when you run at more uptempo paces. My first initial easy plods in the shoe possibly weren't doing it justice, or else that layer of SR-02 needed breaking in slightly. Once I stopped trying to hold back on my pace, I started to appreciate that smooth and consistent ride.
In fact, it's hard not to run faster in these shoes. On easy runs, I've found myself running 10-20 seconds faster per kilometre, simply because of how fun they are to run in. The rocker geometry is also quite pronounced, which helps to roll you forward. The downside of this is that it does make the shoe awkward to walk around in (much like its racing counterparts).
That consistent, peppy ride also lends itself fantastically to long runs – particularly ones with some marathon-paced efforts in. In terms of quicker paces, I've used these for a couple of interval sessions (including a 8 x 3 minutes @ 4:00 min/km) and they responded just fine – although I do think I prefer something a little stiffer with a hint more 'snap' for speed work.
For those familiar with the Alphafly 3's distinctive 'clip clop' sound, it's also worth noting that the Zoom Fly 6 is a little noisy to run in if you're rawdogging without headphones.
RW verdict
The Zoom Fly 6 is kind of like that cherished friend who, for some reason, makes a really bad first impression and you have to beg everyone else to give them a chance.
nike air max 1 mini swoosh pack really like this shoe – it feels like everything a true super trainer should be. It provides the perfect blend of performance-focused elements with everyday comfort and is not simply a max-cushioned shoe with a carbon plate stuck into it (not naming any names here).
It might not be as bouncy as Nike's higher-end racing models, but the dual-midsole in conjunction with the ZoomFly Plate creates a consistent and responsive ride that shines on tempo runs and long training sessions. In fact, I can see this being a great option for people who may not feel 'fast' enough for top-tier racing shoes and don't mind a little more weight.
For £154.99, it's also a very affordable offering – especially when you consider the likes of the nike foamposite australia women shoe shoes (£200) and Endorphin Pro 4 (£230.00) cost a lot more. We need more fun, versatile shoes at this price point and I'm glad that Nike agrees.
So, has the Swoosh finally cracked the super trainer code? I'd say so. This is a shoe that I genuinely look forward to running in and can see myself continuing to lace up in over the coming months for a big bulk of my training. Bravo, Nike. You're back in the game.
