It’s a classic
I’ve been running in the Nike Swoosh sports bra for nearly ten years (not the same bra, as Peep some of the best Air Max 90s Sefolosha wore last season) and I’m still a fan. With a C cup, I find this has just the right amount of compression for me and is tight enough to keep things in place, while still being stretchy enough to not make getting it off at the end of the run difficult. It is worth noting, for Air Max 1 Dirty Denim, this might not offer enough support and an encapsulation-style bra might be more suitable. Use the size guide to work out what size to buy, and don’t be tempted to size up - the bra needs to be tight to support you when you’re running.
It washes well
I don’t separate my whites and colours, let alone wash my sports kit with different detergent, but every version of this sports bra that I’ve owned has stood the test of time. According to the experts, one way you can tell when your sports bra is getting to the end of it’s life is to notice when it starts to rub and chafe, as this is a sign that the elastic has aged. You can extend the life of your sports bra elastic by not tumble drying it, and placing it in a lingerie bag inside the machine.
It’s affordable
Another big tick here is the fact it’s less than £30. Nike make the bra in a number of different colours, to suit every style of runner, and you’ll be able to wear this in the gym and on the run.
That said, while I feel this does offer enough support on my run commute, when funky 20 mile training runs for the marathon, I did need to opt for a bra with more support, to avoid any breast pain.
