The New York Road Runners (NYRR) TCS New York City Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the world. It’s also one of the hardest to get into.
Why It Takes Years to Reach Your 26.2 Potential of their entry status of this year’s race in the spring, but if you weren’t one of the 2 to 3 percent of people accepted, there’s still another opportunity available for Runner’s World+ members to join in on the fun this November. How can you get selected?
We’re looking for RW+ members with various running experiences who would like to race the NYC Marathon in November. While a full 16-week program for NYC begins July 14, runners with summer running in their legs could jump in on training if they have a solid base and racing experience.

Kristen Wagner joined the Runner’s World and Bicycling team as a senior health & fitness editor in November 2024 with a decade of magazine editorial experience.
