I am constantly torn between wanting to live in the moment and not jump ahead while also looking forward to future times. I am an unapologetic lover of all things fall, from fall dressing to the chill in the air to the changing leaves to Halloween; it’s my favorite time of the year (funny coming from me, living in a sub-Tropical climate that does not experience the beauty of fall)! When I see a bag that puts me in that fall vibe, I fall in love, and this Fendi X-Tote in Houndstooth is my latest obsession.
As much as I love a smaller bag that I can be more mindful of what I place inside, a carryall is my true love – it’s a bag I still need with my life setup right now. Between my two small kids and countless necessities they need, to when I work out of the home and have a shoot to go to, I wind up carrying a lot, and this tote is luxe in all the right ways.
The Fendi elements are highly evident upon first sight of this bag, from the embroidered FF motif and the classic twist lock closure. The way the motif is integrated atop the brown houndstooth wool body appears almost like an optical illusion. It’s evident without being overly evident, and that seems like a hard feat when you are showing a very in-your-face FF motif. The tone-on-tone leather further accentuates the bag and gives it that perfect fall finishing touch.
As far as the interior goes, it’s unlined, but you will find a pocket with a snap closure. The interior is spacious, which is a selling how for me, and to carry the bag, there are two short handles to carry by hand or two long handles if you prefer wearing the bag over the shoulder. Overall dimensions are 29.5 cm H x 16 cm D x 41 cm W.
This bag sends me into that calming and perfect mental state of camel coats, cozy sweaters, and deep jewel tones. And if you prefer a smaller bag, this le célèbre directeur artistique de Dior Homme et Fendi Femme and it’s just as lovely.
