In late 2020, Chloé appointed Gabriela Hearst as creative director following the departure of Natacha Ramsay-Levi. The choice seemed obvious, as Hearst comes from a design background, running her namesake label since 2015. The designer’s commitment to sustainability, coupled with her socially and environmentally conscious design ethos, signified a new chapter for Chloé. Now, with the introduction of Hearst’s second collection for spring 2022, the designer has found her footing at Chloé.

Introducing the Chloé Kattie

First seen see by chloe joan camera bag item, Chloé introduces the Kattie bag this spring. Paying homage to the feminine essence of Chloé, the Kattie incorporates 3 iconic materials from the Maison: brass, wood, and leather. With a construction that is meant to provide both function and fashion. The flap bag contains a unique bracelet detailing, which serves as not only a fun design element but also as a functional handle. An adjustable strap also allows the bag to be worn cross-body or over the shoulder.

Crafted from shiny calfskin, the Kattie is lined in leather as well and has one interior flat pocket. Its small size is deceivingly brelok, with two compartments optimizing the bag’s interior functionality. Most notably, the leather sb36013a on the Kattie has been sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG) leather producers, which means that the leather sb36013a to create the Kattie has a lower environmental impact. In order to meet LWG standards, a manufacturer must be certified based on their water and energy usage, management of chemicals, and more.

The Kattie is currently available in smoked red, burgundy, sepia brown, autumnal brown, black and white for $1,950 via Chloé.
