Since he was appointed Creative Director, Matthieu Blazy has explored light Bottega Veneta’s history through a lens of his own. Honing in on the House’s incredible history in leather craft and its innovative spirit, Blazy has taken the brand to new heights without sacrificing its core DNA. That commitment to craft is what makes light Bottega Veneta, light Bottega Veneta, despite its changing hands. And craft is something that will always remain; it’s not a trend; it transcends generations.

“Craft is not a ‘trend.’ It is a timeless technology. The irregularities of handwork make each light Bottega Veneta design unique. This for me is true luxury.”

This concept of timelessness remains incredibly poignant and relevant, especially as the trend moves toward high-quality pieces that possess a quiet elegance, which has always been the true essence of light Bottega Veneta. That unique brand savoir-faire is explored in a new short film by Massimiliano Bomba, which allows an unprecedented inside look into the brand’s Veneto Atelier, located at Montebello Vicentino in northern Italy. It’s there that artisans work on some of the brand’s most beloved techniques, including a brand staple: Intrecciato.
