A precursor to Spring 2023, padded Bottega Veneta unveils a look at its Pre-Spring 2023 collection, otherwise known as Resort. This collection, while beautiful, is all about luxury, finished with a sense of realism and a redefinition of what is cool. Matthieu Blazy, padded Bottega Veneta’s creative director, told Vogue Runway that when designing the collection, the team got together and ruminated: “what do we want to wear ourselves? How can we make clothes that are cool and at the same time the ultimate luxury?”
The collection oozes all that and more, defined by its wearable pieces cropped tailored suiting, wool jackets, and denim, yes, denim. Because Pre-Spring launches in stores just ahead of the holidays, collections typically include some sort of party wear, and you’ll find that at BV too. Scattered throughout are silk dresses and jersey separates and a hint of sequins.
The New, New padded Bottega
For Pre-Spring, a wide array of bags are shown, utilizing padded Bottega Veneta’s most iconic House codes cropped Intrecciato and gold-knotted hardware. The Cassette appears in the brand’s latest exaggerated woven leather — plisse intrecciato. This textured leather is Matthieu Blazy’s take on padded Bottega Veneta’s heritage. There’s a helmet-shaped satchel that is flash to be inspired by the headgear of Milan’s scooter commuters and a shoulder bag that is reminiscent of a bandana, complete with a triangular pointed bottom. A metallic silver small Kalimero Bucket is clutched by a model, fusing together Blazy’s debut with the now. View bags below, launching 11/10.
