The 17th EWF will take place on 2nd and 3rd April ...
Following the successful autumn edition of the Experience the World of Flyfishing last October, we, the organizers, look forward with confidence to the 17th Experience the World of Flyfishing on 2 and 3 April 2022.
Of course it is not yet clear what, if any, measures will be necessary for visiting the EWF, but the positive experience with the autumn EWF shows that a successful show is possible under Corona regulations.
Very good is that the EWF will, as usual, take place over the full area of the Fürstenfeld Event Forum and monastery grounds. That means, in detail:
The exhibition areas of the Stadtsaal, the Foyer, and the Tenne will be filled with exhibitors, well-known and prized brands and products, as well as travel agents, owners of lodges, clubs with fly fishing waters, artists, and much more to warm the fly fisher’s heart.
The very popular casting demonstrations will again take place at the large casting pool. Thibaut Giband - Scott/Scientific Anglers, Jan Kubala and Pino Messina - Vision, Glenda Powell and Ian Gordon - Cadence (A new brand at the EWF -- the first demo rods were already presented last autumn), Christopher Rownes - Guideline, Trond Syrstad - LTS, Klaus Frimor - Loop, and, for the first time, Stanislav Mankov from Bulgaria. More to follow.
Very popular last fall were the casting and test stations of the individual exhibitors on the outdoor show grounds and those will be continued in the same format this spring.
Of course, there will also again be presentations about fly fishing.
Visitors will find over 40 fly tyers on the stages and exhibition stands showing both their newest and well-known fly patterns. Included will be Daniela Misteli, Philipp Goralski, Werner Steinsdorfer, Sven Ostermann, Igor Stancev, Theo Atanassov, Stefano Ticchiati, Evgenii Borovin, Adrian Hauser, Györfi Zolt, Hans-Jürgen Baum, Rudi Wiestermayer, and ... the fly tyers of the last three Open German Championships.Garry Ord Clark has also promised to bring a number of copies of his book “Fly-Tying for Beginners” which appeared on the market in September.
The highlight of the autumn EWF, the fly tying clinic with Caroline Emmet, Chris Reeves, and the well-known author and fly tyer Peter Gathercole will return to the upper floor of the Tenne. Peter will be happy to sign copies of his book for you.
Of course, the Ambulant Children’s Hospice Munich is also represented by a stand selling the flies submitted to the fly-tying championship and other donated fly fishing items.
We plan on having the popular and comprehensive programme for children and youth whether it be with a rod at the casting pool or with feathers at the tying bench. All are welcome and will be assisted by the dedicated EWF Team when learning our hobby.
Fly fishing women will again this year be able to talk about their questions and wishes with Glenda Powell from Ireland at her stand on the ground floor of the Tenne or with Ramona Hani, enthusiastic fly fisher from Austria, at the stand of the Austrian Fishing Club (Österreichische Fischereigesellschaft e.v. gegr. 1880). Both are always happy to have a lively exchange.
Very popular in autumn was the beginners’ program in the Tenne. As a result, Hans Eiber (an old hand in this program) and Rainer Roth again invite all interested “newbies” and fly fishing beginners to their stand. There you will encounter comprehensive advice and presentation of fly fishing equipment, clothing, and everything else related. They will help you select the appropriate equipment. It will also be possible to test immediately the equipment on the outdoor grounds.
Your inner “well-being” will be well cared for with the Biergarten, large Pizza oven, coffee cart, etc.!
We have saved one of the best things for last: despite the massive increase in consumer prices, we, the organizers, have decided to keep the entrance prices at the levels of 2019.
We look forward to seeing you soon at the EWF
